Photography in a hotel, office or restaurant does more than fill wall space. A consistent visual direction can connect rooms, create local identity and give guests or visitors a stronger sense of the environment.
Start with a visual concept
A project can be built around Nordic landscapes, city architecture, wildlife or a more restrained combination of subjects. The important part is consistency in tone, scale and presentation.
Use scale strategically
Reception areas and large meeting spaces can support stronger, larger works. Corridors and repeated room types benefit from coordinated series, while panoramic pieces can be particularly effective on wide architectural surfaces.
Curate rather than simply decorate
A smaller number of carefully chosen works often creates a stronger identity than filling every available wall. A project can also be divided into zones, with different collections assigned to different parts of a property.
