From Cityscape to Fine Art: New York, Paris, London, Rome and Stockholm

New York skyline fine art photography by Anders Jorulf

City photography becomes most interesting when the place is recognizable but the image still feels personal. Architecture provides structure; light, weather, traffic and viewpoint determine the mood.

New York

The skyline and dense urban geometry make New York naturally suited to graphic compositions and panoramic work. Night photography adds another layer, turning individual windows, bridges and reflections into points of light.

Paris, London and Rome

Historic architecture brings a different visual rhythm. The Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and the Colosseum are familiar subjects, so the challenge is to use perspective, contrast and surrounding light to create a photograph with its own identity.

Stockholm

Stockholm offers a quieter relationship between architecture and water. Reflections, twilight and the long northern evening create a distinctly Scandinavian city atmosphere.
